Our Cabins
Both A Bear's Lodge & A Loafer's Lodge are fully equiped and privately owned single family cabins nestled just steps to the national forest in the neighborhood of Sugar Loaf (Big Bear, CA). Both cabins have tree views and are just a 7 minute drive to resorts, supermarkets and some of the best restaurants in town! You will have all of the amenities you would put in your own vacation cabin including fully equipped gourmet kitchens (all stainless appliances, granite counters, convection ovens, full sized fridges), phone, TVs, cable, Netflix, WIFI, bedding, linens, towels, soap, games and more. We use our cabins as well and want everything just perfect for your stay and ours! We are avid outdoor enthusiast, mountain bikers, equestrians, and parents. Oh, and we love to dine out in Big Bear too, so feel free to ask us for tips on how to make the most of your Big Bear vacation.

This is a newer home with a sleek professional remodel and expansion in the spring of 2012. Open concept floor plan with high ceilings, lots of windows and modern amenities. All of this is just 7 to 10 minutes to markets, slopes, lake and some of the best food and fun the mountain has to offer. Both our lodges are located in a tranquil neighborhood setting just steps to forest trails for hiking, biking and snowshoeing.
Downstairs you will find open concept living with sleek warm design features such as recessed lighting, crystal chandelier, gourmet kitchen, 9 person dining table, 46" flat panel TV and entertainment center. Gourmet kitchen is equipped with, among other items, convection ovens (2), gas range, stainless appliances, granite counters and full sized fridge. There is a master suite down, with access to yard and full bath with granite counters, double sinks, shower/tub. There is also side by side laundry.
Upstairs is the second bedroom with 2 twin over full bunk beds (sleeps 6). There is a second full bath upstairs with granite counters and shower/tub. The upstairs also features a sizable den/media room with sectional couch, 50" flat panel TV, DVD, Netflix and wifi.
This home is just steps to forest, 7-10 minute drive to slopes, restaurants, markets, lake and more. Free phone, BBQ, use of lakefront resort, pool, spa, more. Shuttle service to resorts and around town the neighborhood has a local general store, skate park and playground.
Our Pet and smoking Policy
From time to time we have guests with respiratory ailments and severe allergies. In order to cater to them we must maintain our facilities as pet and smoke free. Even the smallest amount of pet dander, hair or residual smoke residue is enough to cause a deadly reaction in those with sensitivities, cystic fibrosis, COPD and other ailments. We too are animal owners and lovers, but it is for this reason we beg you not to sneak in any pets or allow smoking inside any of the rooms. If a guest needs to smoke, please do it outside with the doors and windows closed. There is a $250 dollar remediation fee if we need to do a deep cleaning to remove smoke or pet residue. Worse yet, a seemingly innocent indiscretion could cause great harm to a future guest! If you need a pet friendly or smoking facility, there are many in Big Bear, please email me and we will assist you in finding one.
